Podiatric Medicine and Surgery

Podiatry is that branch of medicine that deals with the management and treatment of diseases that affect the feet and legs. A Podiatrist is a doctor who has studied in this field for four years at a college of podiatric medicine after completing their undergraduate work.

Podiatrists also serve as medical and surgical residents for two to three years after completing their medical education. The surgical residency gives the podiatric physician the skills to manage your foot and ankle problems if conservative treatment fails.
